About Gaby
I am a highly relational person; I enjoy connecting with people and knowing their stories. I feel a great honor when entrusted with someone’s narrative. Vulnerability is the emotion most people want to move away from, but I believe it is the key to a deeper connection. I work with people who want a little more out of life. You may need support while transitioning to college or you feel like work isn’t fulfilling. Maybe you struggle with compassion fatigue and are feeling burnout. You want to work on finding a better routine, having meaningful connections, and reaching your full potential. As a queer therapist, I’m LGBTQ+ affirming and work with people who are looking to deepen their relationships with themselves.
A balance of gentleness and directness is the way I like to help my clients heighten their awareness of themselves and the world around them. I enjoy using an approach that opens my clients’ curiosities and broadens their perspectives. I use a humanistic framework and believe that the therapeutic relationship is a powerful place where acceptance, trust, and safety exist. I am a strong believer that anyone can benefit from counseling, that’s why I strive to always provide a nonjudgmental, empathetic space. It is my goal to have you feel safe to discover who you are, empower yourself to change your patterns, and evolve into the person you wish to be.
I graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and from the University of North Texas with a Master of Science in Counseling. My training in school focused on adolescents, namely teenagers and young adults. At our onsite clinic, I provided outpatient individual counseling sessions to high schoolers, college students, and adults. I have also worked at a partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adolescents and adults in a variety of roles; providing family sessions, individual sessions, and leading groups.
Outside of being a counselor, I appreciate spending time in nature, especially being surrounded by animals. I enjoy playing pickleball, traveling, reading, and watching reality TV in my free time.
